Registration FAQs:

Do I need to create an account to register?
Yes. It doesn’t take long.

Can I register for multiple climbers at the same time?
No. Each climber needs a separate registration for each day that they intend to climb at Whanganui Bay.

I only want to do a day trip to Whanganui Bay. Do I need to register?
Yes. Register and pay for one day of climbing. Remember to park in one of the designated parking areas.

I want to climb for a day and then camp. I will then leave early the next morning. How many days should I register for?
Register and pay for one day of climbing. All registered climbers are permitted to camp in the designated camping area.

I plan to arrive on Friday night, climb for the weekend and leave late on Sunday afternoon. How many days should I register for?
Register and pay for your climbing on the Saturday and Sunday – i.e. two days.

I have registered and paid for two days of climbing but the weather turns bad and I don’t get to climb on the second day. Can I get a refund?
Refunds will incur a $10 refund fee. If you are concerned that the weather or some other event or circumstance may interfere with your climbing plans, you can register one day at a time - there is mobile coverage at the designated camping area.

I want to bring one or more dependents with me to the Bay. Can I do that and do they need to be registered?
You can take one or more dependents with you but each dependent must be registered separately for each of the days that you intend to climb at Whanganui Bay. You can register a dependent using your own account by creating a new registration and inserting the relevant dependent's name. You are responsible for ensuring that your dependents comply with the access terms. Please remember: The access arrangement is for climbers - it is not a general access right. And many parts of the climbing areas at the Bay are not safe for children.
